Methodist Church Built in 1896
Pilley’s Island Methodist Church, Churchyard and School is a collection of structures and landscapes comprising a late-19th century Gothic Revival church building, a graveyard and a mid-20th century school building.
Methodist Two Room School Built in 1949
Pilley’s Island Methodist School is a good example of the middle period of school construction in Newfoundland and Labrador. This period – from the early- to mid-20th century – is characterized by hip roofs and ganged 6/6 or larger windows. The Pilley’s Island Methodist School was modified during and after the tenure of the Loyal Orange Lodge, however its overall character remains intact.
Boat Tours
Pyrite Mine
Pilley’s Island pyrite mine operated between 1887 and 1908 under at least five different owners. It was the first mine in the province to install electric lights underground for 24 hour operation.
Walking Trails
There are many walking trails right here in Pilley’s Island and in the surrounding communities of Triton & Robert’s Arm.

So happy to have come across this little gem! Colleen is the best host and her BnB is stunning! We had the green room with jacuzzi tub and fireplace. The view over the harbour from the room is breath-taking. The room was so beautifully put together and comfortable. Colleen also cooks an amazing complimentary hot breakfast! Thank you for everything!
We stayed here this summer and it was beautiful. Great view, and it’s beautifully finished and furnished. Definitely higher-end than your average b&b. Great breakfast and very nice host! I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the area!
Beautiful view and spotless accommodations. Colleen is very welcoming, she gave us lots of ideas for activities and restaurants to go to in the area. We were able to get a look at all 3 rooms and they are all amazing. We got a full breakfast with great servings, homemade jams and all. I’ve posted a picture of the breakfast in the comments. Would recommend to anyone looking for a gateway weekend!
